Detailed Itinerary of 6 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Day 01: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and Trek to Jhinu Danda

Max. Altitude: 1,110m (Nayapul), 1,760m (Jhinu Danda)

Trek Duration: 5-6 hours + 2 hours of drive

Accommodation: Teahouse/Lodge

Your journey starts today with a short drive from Pokhara to Nayapul. The drive will be about two hours. Nayapul is the starting point of the trek. You begin your trek towards the entrance spot; Birethanti village. Birethanti is also the checkpoint for your trek permit and TIMS card.

Completing the formalities, you continue your trek. You gradually start ascending upwards following the river bank and local settlements. The villages are full of beautiful scenery, unique lifestyle, and traditions. The major tribes you meet are Gurung and Magar.

Crossing Modi Khola comes an uphill gorge which you pass. Finally, you reach Jhinu Danda. Jhinu Danda is the refreshing spot to begin your trek. You can enjoy the soothing bath at natural hot springs. You can also explore the awesome surroundings around Jhinu.

Day 02: Trek from Jhinu Danda to Bamboo

Max. Altitude: 2,600m, Bamboo

Trek Duration: 5-6 hours

After having breakfast, you will ascend via stone staircase. You will cross the river swaying on a long suspension bridge. Then, you pass through deep forests of bamboo, rhododendron, and oak. In spring, the blooming flora makes the trails dreamy and colorful. Beside is the magnificent views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, and Gangapurna.

Crossing Chhomrong Khola, you will reach the beautiful village of Chhomrong. Then, you will reach Sinuwa where you’ll have lunch. Walking through the forest trails for few hours and passing Khuldighar village, you will reach Bamboo.

Day 03:Trek from Bamboo to Deurali

Max. Altitude: 3,194m, Bamboo

Trek Duration: 5-6 hours

Accommodation: Teahouse/Lodge

Leaving Bamboo, you head towards long, steep, and slippery stone staircase. The whole day is a complete uphill where you pass villages like Dovan and Himalaya.

At the start, your walk passes through stairs within bamboo forest. The environment is damp and cool before you reach Dovan. You will have your lunch at Dovan and continue the ascent. The steep stairs then lead you to Hotel Himalaya. Then, the forest opens up and you spot Hinku cave.

Afterwards, your trek will take you to avalanche chutes full of waterfalls. Climbing the next, you will reach Deurali. Deurali is a magical valley where you witness stunning mountain vistas, rivers, cliffs, waterfalls, vegetation, and flora & fauna.

Day 04: Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp via Machhapuchhre Base Camp

Max. Altitude: 4,130m (Annapurna Base Camp), 3,700m (Machhapuchhre Base Camp)

Trek Duration: 6-7 hours

Here comes the ultimate, exciting yet hardest day of your trek. You will have an early breakfast at the teahouse. Then begins the climb through stone staircase once again. You pass through Bagar, another avalanche chute.

As you climb up the breathtaking Himalayan peaks becomes closer and more beautiful. Within 3-4 hours, you will reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp. It is one of the major highlights of ABC.In a phrase, MBC is a piece of heaven. Fishtail appears so appealing and the surroundings scenery looks outstanding.

This is a truly blissful moment as you get to visit two base camps in one trip. After your lunch, the trails take you to Annapurna Base Camp. The icy glaciers, moraines, and panoramic mountains welcome you.

Best Time to Trek Annapurna Base Camp

Day 05: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Sinuwa Danda

Max. Altitude: 2,360m, Sinuwa Danda

Day 06: Trek from Sinuwa Danda to New Bridge and Drive to Pokhara

Max. Altitude: 1,340m (New Bridge), 950m (Pokhara)

Trek Duration: 4-5 hours + 3-4 hours of drive

Here comes the last day of 6 Days Annapurna Base Camp trek. Starting your journey through awesome trails, you will walk for 4-5 hours. Upon reaching New Bridge below Jhinu Danda, the jeep will be waiting for you. After having lunch at New Bridge, you will take a short and scenic drive.

After 4 hours, you will reach Pokhara, a famous tourist hub. Your remaining time is leisure. Either you can relax or you can explore your surroundings. Weather is always unpredictable at such altitudes. The temperature, humidity varies depending on the seasons. Annapurna Base Camp trek can be done in any season. And every season has its perks.

However, Autumn (September-November) and Spring (March-May) are the best seasons for ABC trek. Weather is warm and dry. The skies are clear and sunny.
