Best Season to visit Langtang short trek 7 days
There is no better season than Autumn and Spring in Nepal. Langtang short trek is no exception in this regard. The hills are green, forests are colorful and the trekking trails are at their best conditions to serve you.
Autumn in Nepal begins in September and ends in November. It is the most beautiful season that offers you undisturbed nature. Days are bright and sunny but it does not create difficulties in your trekking. Autumn is all about the moderate climate and steady temperature.
It is the favorite season for most of the travelers trekking around the Langtang region. The average day temperature around the region fluctuates between 10 to 15°C. As October and November replace September the temperature starts to decrease.
The days are less sunny and nights are colder. You have to prepare yourself for the upcoming season because Winter is coming. Spring is another beautiful season for short Langtang trek.
Spring is about color, greenery, and newness, you will observe buds are coming out to bloom. You may be having the experience of Spring in the Himalayan region for the first time, so every experience will be new to you.
As you move higher, you will see a place for yaks feeding. Seasonal fruits and flowers are all over the trekking trails. Flowers like Rhododendron, Orchid, Jasmine release the smelling fragrance making the whole environment cheerful. Spring starts in March and lasts till May, the temperature keeps fluctuating between 10 to 20°C.

The temperature around the day scales from 6 to 9°C with good visibility. Nights and Mornings are freezing cold whereas days are quite mild. At higher altitudes, the temperature can even go below minus.
Difficulties of 7 days Langtang short trek
Langtang short trek is for everyone having good physical and mental fitness. The trekking trails are not so difficult therefore it can also be perfect for the beginner. There are few slippery trails but that should not disturb you.
The overall path is comfortable and well-managed. However, it may be difficult for you if you are traveling in Winter. Due to heavy snow in your path, it may be difficult to traverse from one place to another.
Like in any other trekking trails, altitude sickness remains the constant limitation for this short Langtang trek too. It is the main reason for many trekkers to step back or even stop the trek in a middle way.
Altitude sickness has few symptoms like breathing problems, nausea, migraine, etc. You should have proper knowledge about the possible difficulties while traveling through these heights. Drinking lots of water is one way to prevent yourself from Altitude sickness. If your condition became worse then you should immediately descend or even stop the trek.

Langtang short trek 7 days itinerary
The 7 days Langtang short trek starts from Kathmandu itself which moves further to Syabru Besi, Lama Hotel, Langtang village, and a few other places. The detailed itinerary is as follow:
Day 01: Kathmandu to Syabru Besi
As you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our members will welcome you at the airport itself. After our short visit there, you will be taken to your respective hotel.
You can rest for sometime and after catching your breath come out to explore the city. The journey from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi takes around 7 hours. After having some meals at the hotel you will be heading towards Syabru Besi.
Through the jeep ride, you will enjoy the scenic beauty of Kathmandu and its surroundings. Riding through ridges and hills, you will enjoy the enigmatic landscape, terraces filled with greenery.
As you move forward in your journey you will get a clearer picture of the surroundings and mountains. While reaching Syabru Besi, you will see the majestic view of Ganesh Himal and Manaslu.
After a few hours, you will reach the beautiful town of Trisuli and seeing the colorful market you will head towards Dhunche Bazar. The road is heading towards Dhunche through the Langtang National Park. One more hour and you will reach Syabru Besi which is a drive downhill. Syabru Besi is your destination for today and you will stay here too.
Day 02: Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel
This is your second day of Langtang short trek but the actual part of trekking starts from here. After having breakfast you will start the journey from Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel.
With the view of astounding Himalayan ranges from Syabru Besi village, you will continue the journey. It is a regular and easy trail up to Lama Hotel but you need to cross the Bhote Koshi River and Langtang Khola to see the scenic beauty of the high hill.
From here, you will ascend your journey through a dense forest to reach a small village, Bamboo. While crossing the dense forest, you also need to cross the landslide area before reaching Bamboo.
You may be feeling tired by the trekking till now so have a rest for a while. While resting here, you can enjoy the massive landscape until you receive your meal for the day. After having lunch, you will continue the journey of a short Langtang trek passing through the subtropical forest.
The subtropical forest consists of Maple, Oak, Spruce, and Blue Pine trees. You can also encounter a few wild animals like Wild Boars, Red Panda, Langur Monkey, etc. After gently ascending the trek you will reach Rimche and on a further walk, the trails will lead you to Lama Hotel.
This whole journey from Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel will take you 7 hours. After traveling through the gazing natural beauty for the whole day, you will rest here at Lama Hotel.
Day 03: Lama Hotel to Langtang village
As per Langtang short trek 7 days itinerary, you will be heading towards Langtang village today. Your journey begins as soon as your breakfast is completed.
At the beginning of this trek, you will ascend for some time following the sloppy route. As you gain your speed and rhythm, you will trek faster through the indigenous forests of Maples, Rhododendron, and Hemlocks.
As the altitude increases, you will have the mesmerizing view of the Himalayas that are scattered in every direction. Langtang Lirung is a major attraction and you can see it throughout this route.
Until you reach Ghora Tabela, the trekking trail passes through the log bridge. Further continuing the trek you come across a yak shelter and helipad. This part of the trek will take you 5 hours to reach Langtang village while passing through a few Tamang settlements.
Langtang village is a beautiful village having some water-driven mills. The houses here are built in traditional style. It is made up of stones, with flat roofs. Today you will be staying here in this village so it is better if you visit the nearby monasteries and stone walls around the fields.
Day 04: Langtang village to Kyanjin Gompa
After traversing through the Langtang village, which is also one of the populated villages around the Langtang region, you will head towards Kyajin Gompa.
First of all, you will have your breakfast and then the trek continues. You will ascend towards the ridge following the Chortens passing through Mani walls. After crossing the stream you will reach Mundu which is a small village before Kyajin.
While passing through several small streams, you will also cross the cantilever bridges that are exciting and frightening at the same time. After a while, passing through a few moraines you will see the artistically elegant Kyanjin Gompa.
The silence of Langtang Lirung icefall turns into a thundering sound as you come near to the village. It is a satisfying feeling to travel through lushful greenery of this region.
Cheese factory is another popular destination around here. You will be staying here at Kyanjin Gompa so it is better to visit the Cheese factory. After having your lunch, you have enough time to spare so enjoy the alluring view of Kyanjin Ri and Yala Peak.
If you are someone interested in mountaineering then this information is particularly for you, you get a chance to explore Dorje Lhakpa, Tsergo Ri, and Ganja La Pass. Lodge in Kyanjin will be your place for today.
Day 05: Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel
You will start your day by having hot tea and breakfast at Kyanjin Gompa, there is no other best way to start your day.
The descending part starts from here, you will return to Lama Hotel. Before departing from the Kyanjin, have a last look towards this beautiful village and mountains. This is the same route you followed earlier but now you are returning back.
You will again cross the Langtang Khola, and trekking forward you will walk through beautiful Ghoda Tabela. It is also a place for having lunch and enjoying the view of glaring mountains.
From Ghoda Tabela, you will start fresh by descending downwards to Lama Hotel. To give some rest to your tired legs and body, you can enjoy the incredible view of valleys and lush green vegetation.
As you move downward, you will see more greenery and wilderness throughout the region. Nearly after 6 hours of trek from Kyanjin, you will reach your destination for today, the Lama Hotel. Tomorrow morning you will be heading towards Syabru Besi so enjoy your night well at Lama Hotel.
Day 06: Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi
Like earlier days, this day also starts with having proper breakfast and heading towards the next destination.
This day is totally yours to enjoy and explore the trails from Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi. You will see different small settlements and eye-catching snow-capped mountains. The route follows downhill through pastures and farming lands from Lama Hotel.
Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi is relaxing and soul-fulfilling because it passes through the dense Oak forest with an astounding view of mountains. You will trek through this route till evening so you will have an awe-inspiring view of the sunset from the route itself.
After reaching Syabru Besi, you need to rest after all these trekking tiredness. There is also an option for exploring the Syabru Besi village. You can talk to the local people and know about their culture and tradition.
Day 07: Syabru Besi to Kathmandu
It is the last day of your short trek to Langtang for 7 days. You may have a nostalgic feeling about this trek but it is the time for farewell.
After having breakfast you will head towards the Kathmandu valley from Syabru Besi. Arrange your bags and all other necessary items before the arrival of the jeep. Once the jeep arrives you will start the journey.
While on this jeep ride you will experience various terraces and fast-flowing streams which seek your attention. The beautiful view of Sherpa settlements along the Trisuli River is enchanting.
This journey will take you nearly 7 to 8 hours and it is not over until you reach your hotel room and lie on your bed. Your body surely needs the proper rest from this bone tiring journey. After having some rest and gaining energy, you can explore the city if you want.
