The trail from Machhermo to Namche is a beautiful day of Everest Base Camp Cho La Pass Gokyo Trek. Trekkers will pass through the gorgeous landscapes to arrive at the destination of this trek. Trekkers will observe the sweeping vista of the snow-clad mountains along the trail. You can also watch the natural diversities of the area while trekking from Macchermo to Namche Bazaar.
The trek begins after we wake up early and observe the Himalayan sunrise from the viewpoint near the teahouse. You will then have breakfast at around 8 to get charged for the trek. Then, you will start your trekking journey following rocky terrains and navigating based on the white arrows painted on the rocks.
There are flat trails for some time before you climb a ridge in the region. After that, you will cross the bridge, and observe the valley slowly opening up along the route. You will trek slowly on these trails conserving energy for the last uphill climb. There are sweeping vistas of the snow-clad mountains along the trails.
This section of the trek is long and strenuous. Although you will lose elevation of around 1000 m, the path is not straight downhill. You will still have to go uphill and downhill throughout the trek. There on the trail, you will also have to pass through stony steps of the region. There are a few settlements along the route where you can stop for a rest and lunch.
These include village settlements of Thortse and Phortse. As you move down in elevation, you will find breathing easier because there is more oxygen and air pressure. It also becomes more scenic with much more vegetation and warmer temperatures. There are straightforward routes in the region.
You might get lost at some point as there are multiple routes along the trail. However, if you trek with a guide, you will have no problem navigating these terrains. The scenic trek provides the best cultural exploration opportunities in these settlements.
On these terrains, you will observe the various local communities’ heritage, traditions, and lifestyle. After trekking for some time, you will arrive at Namche Bazaar, which takes around 6-7 hours to complete. However, the trek duration also depends upon the fitness and pace of the trekkers. Hence, you should train well for the Machhermo to Namche Bazaar trek in advance.

Namche Bazaar
Namche is an excellent acclimatization point, with many hiking spots around. There are Khunde and Khumjung hiking points along with the Syangboche viewpoint. From the Syangboche airstrip, you can observe the sweeping views of the snow-clad mountains. These include Mount Everest (8848.86m), which holds the record as the tallest mountain peak in the world.
Namche Bazaar is a beautiful settlement with a vibrant atmosphere with cafes, hotels, restaurants, etc. It is quite happening with many trekkers socializing and acclimatizing in the area. You can also find souvenir shops in the region where you can buy gifts for your friends and family.
The town of Namche is famous for its semi-circle formation. There are various terrace levels in this settlement. You can also find a bakery in this high-altitude settlement. You can also get trekking gear and equipment for the trek in the shops around the town.
Namche also includes the Sherpa museum, which is quite famous among trekkers. In the museum, you can find many significant heritages of the local community. There you can find a Yak skull as well. Hence, this settlement is quite famous for these reasons.
