The last day is here. Now, you will be heading towards where it all begins, Lukla. This day of walking from Namche Bazaar to Lukla is one of the longest trekking days of the entire trek. On this day, you’ll cover the whole distance that took us three days while incoming. So it is a great day of trekking and the last one. Make sure you enjoy the fullest on this day.

You’ll hit the road back to Lukla after eating delicious breakfast, leaving the teahouse, and giving the last look to Namche Bazaar. Through the paving stones, you will reach the foothill of Namche village. Then you will take a trail to Lukla, through the same road you hit during the second day of the trek. After 40 minutes, you will arrive at the resting point from where you will get a final view of Mt Everest. The mountain will be no more visible ahead.

The trek will carry on downhill on stone steps. Once in a while, you will cross some colorful hanging bridges. The downhill will turn moderate, and the trail will be flat.  There, you will walk alongside the Dudh Koshi River. Although the day is more about Downhill sections, but be ready for some uphills as well. There are some parts where you’ll be climbing uphills. But the vegetation will keep you moving.

You will get picturesque views of mountains and rivers taking the road ahead. We will come across several Sherpa villages, mani walls, and the Sagarmatha National Park entrance. After all of the beautiful walks, we’ll be back in the hamlet of Phakding.  You will stop there to relax and have brunch.

After lunch, you’ll hit the road again to finish the remaining part of the trek. The hike will continue through the place of suspension bridges, rivers, and some mountain views. This last stretch of the trek from Phakding to Lukla is moderately uphill. So you will need some effort to reach Lukla. As you head upstairs, you will pass some more small villages.

And finally, after weeks of trekking, covering more than 120km and reaching 24000 feet, the trek will finish here. What a journey it will be. You will have so many good memories roaming inside your head and a feeling of completing the Everest Base Camp Trek.
