Rapid Everest Base Camp Trek Route

Our trek journey starts with an adventurous mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. After a 40-minute flight, we arrive at Lukla and start our trekking journey with a short descent of 3 to 4 hours to Phakding. We trek for 6-7 hours every day on average and stay overnight at teahouses.We resume our trek the next day on a trail that passes through the alpine forests along the Bhote Koshi and Dudh Koshi rivers. The trail leads us to the famous tourist town of Namche Bazaar. Namche has a vibrant atmosphere with many hotels, restaurants, cafes, pubs, and others.

We acclimatize around Namche Bazaar for a day and go on a short hike to Khumjung Village. The trail then leads us to the Tengboche Monastery, the spiritual hub of the entire Khumbu region. We can observe the spectacular views of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Thamserku from the Tengboche viewpoint.

Detailed itinerary – Rapid Everest Base Camp Trek

Everest Base Camp Altitude Sickness

Day 01: Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, Trek to Phakding

Flight duration: 35 min flight

Maximum altitude: 2,562m

Trek duration: 3-4 hrs

Trek distance: 8 km

Our staff/representative will take you to Tribhuvan International airport in Kathmandu for a flight to Lukla. Lukla is an essential gateway to the Everest region, from where many trekking journeys start. There are various lodges, teahouses, and other homestays in this town.

After arriving at Lukla, you can explore around and then begin your trek to Phakding. This short-duration trek takes only 3-4 hours, and you will cover a total of 8km during this journey. You will pass through various flora and fauna and rugged green terrains of the region. After arriving at Phakding, you will stay at a lodge for the evening.

Day 02: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar

Early in the morning, you will observe majestic Himalayan sunrise from your tea houses. You will then start your trekking journey to Namche Bazaar. Day 03: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

After the early morning rise, we will continue our trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche. There are various diverse geographical terrains that we need to cross to arrive at Tengboche. You will cross several steep ascents and descents while observing the beautiful natural scenery of the region.

There you can find many Stupas, mani walls, prayer flags, chortens, and others in this route. Trekkers can observe the beautiful natural vista of Ama Dablam from various viewpoints along the trail. After arriving at Tengboche, you can watch the spiritual landmark of Tengboche Monastery. There is a beautiful viewpoint that you can reach just after crossing the monastery.

Day 04: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche

We will start our trek for the day by following the Imja Khola trail as we climb uphill to the fields of Dingboche. Day 05: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche

Trek duration: 4-5 hrs

Trek distance: 7 km

After having a sumptuous breakfast, we will continue our trek from Dingboche to Lobuche on this day. The hike starts as we climb gradually to the Pheriche Valley. We will pass through stunning trails with incredible green vegetation.

We follow this trail over the yak pastures along this journey while observing Ama Dablam, Tawoche, and Cholatse. Ama Dablam is a beautiful mountain that looks like it is rising above the valley floor from this point. We continue our journey to Thokla Pass, covering a challenging ascent along the trail.

From the pass, you can observe beautiful views of snow-capped mountains, including Nuptse, Lhotse Shar, Lhotse, and others. We will start this important day of the trekking journey with a beautiful early sunrise. There are various viewpoints around from where you can observe this incredible view. We will then start our trek from Lobuche and then continue our walk for 3 hours to arrive at a trail with many boulders and rugged terrain. After trekking for a few hours, we will reach Gorakshep. It is an old Everest Base Camp in the Mount Everest expedition.

After lunch, we will continue our trek from Gorakshep towards our ultimate destination of Everest Base Camp. Moreover, We will continue our journey observing magical views of snow-capped mountains of the Mt. Everest Mahalangur Himalayan range. You can watch the bustling atmosphere of the base camp of the highest mountain in the world. There you can find tents of climbers preparing for their expedition to Mt Everest.

Day 07: Trek from Gorakshep – Kala Patthar (5,545m) – Pheriche (4,280m)

Trek distance: 15 km

Early in the morning, we will continue this trek from Gorakshep to Kalapathar. You will have to trek in the dark, and therefore you need to be careful at all times. There are many rugged terrains and challenging routes that you need to pass to complete this tour.

Kalapatthar is a beautiful viewpoint in the Everest region that provides you with the best views of the snow-capped mountains of the area. Many pictures of Mt. Everest is generally taken from this viewpoint. It takes around 3-4 hours from Gorakshep to arrive at Kalapathar.

After breakfast, we will continue our trek from Kalapathar to Pheriche. This descending trail takes approximately 4 hours on a scenic trail. There is green vegetation and settlements to arrive at Periche. There is the Himalayan Rescue Association run health post in Periche primarily targeted for trekkers. It treats trekkers and local people with altitude sickness and other problems. You can stroll and explore around the area and stay overnight at a teahouse in the evening.

Day 08: Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

Trek duration: 6-7 hrs

We will continue our trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar early in the morning. You can start our tour from a beautiful viewpoint as we cross a beautiful suspension bridge. There, you can find many green trails with uphills and downhills, which will allow you to go on a complete adventure in remote terrains. After 3-4 hours of rigorous trekking, you will arrive at Namche Bazaar.
