While 200 were queueing at the Everest summit, we chose another Nepal. We did a 9 day trekking through a non-touristic part of the himalaya: from shivalaya to salleri.
We only meet one tourist during the 9 days, the people we met were the local. The route was booked in advance, but once there our sherpa, Sunam Lama, tailored according to our preference and weather conditions, making our experience unique!
First day: from shivalaya to bhandar was easy, to get contact. Going up and down a hill
Second day: from bhandar to namkheli was though because of the sun. You first go down more than 500m, and then up up up to namkheli. Despite the effort, sleeping at nankheli was totally deserved. The cooked amazing food.
Third day: namkheli to golly ghumpa. Up to the hill, visit a temple and spot our goal: the pikey hill. Anazing views. Then, gradually up until reaching 3300m, the local trest specially great to us! The fog started to visit us.
Fifth: ghumpa to pikey base camp. Only 350m gradually up, untile the base. We were surprised to find some many flowers at +3000m. Then we were supposed to climb up to the summit but weather didnt allow us.
Sixth: pikey – taktour
The more difficult day, but because we were suffering a bit of stomache plus the weather was really bad. We tried to climbed pikey, but again the fog and the wind didn’t let us. So we decided to go down to junbesi, but stopped at taktour because the rain started heavily.
Seventh: from taktour to junbesi + excurdion to little tibet. The weather improved a lot, and we enjoy little tibet and the hotel. The hosts were extremely kind and they offer hot shower!! Even the ladaylend me a hairdryer, so sweet.
Eight: as we couldnt admire the everest from pikey, our guide propose to stay at junbesi and climb up the hill (directiok to takshindou) to find anneverest view. Despite his effort, around the everest a cloud was set. We couldnt view. We return to junbesi because we love the house but plenty of alternative are there. The excursion to the view point was worthy itself.
Ninth from junbesi to salleri.
Tenth: day driving back to katmandu. But just after leaving salleri the guide propose to stop in a hill to climb, and we get it. There was an amazing everest view point
