Best time for 7 days Everest Base Camp Trek
Thanks to its easy accessibility and villages all along the way, the Everest Base Camp trek can be done all year-round. That being said, spring and autumn are quite popular amongst trekkers to walk the base camp.
As compared to other times of the year, spring has utterly cheerful weather. The days are so often bright with lovely sunshine whereas the mornings and nights are slightly cold due to a gentle breeze. The temperature at the base camp during spring normally ranges from -6 to 15 Degree Celsius which makes the trek well-off.
Blooming wildflowers and rhododendron throughout the forest is also what makes spring great for the base camp hike. Since the daytime is longer in spring, trekkers have plenty of time to ramble around and even go slow on the steep trail.
Besides spring, it’s autumn that has hikers wrapped up in, with its cool and warm weather. The climate is incredibly pacifying and calm in fall which makes the hike to Everest Base Camp plain as day.
The average temperature along the way to Everest Base Camp is 12 Degree Celsius in autumn. But as you go higher altitude, the temperature falls dramatically reaching below -6 Degree Celsius which is a bit severe to resist.
The autumn leaves that turn from vibrant green to multi hue of yellow, tinted red and orange offers a picturesque view. The weather is mildly crisp in the morning during the season while the day remains hot and humid.
It’s sad that winter and monsoon aren’t that popular for trekking Everest Base Camp. But that doesn’t mean, trekkers cannot do the hike. Of course, there are somewhat more difficulties to overcome during the month such as the wet course and snowy trail. However, with better preparation and cautiousness, anyone can do the trek with no extra effort.

After breakfast, we’ll recommence our 7 days Everest Base Camp Trek with a steep and exhausting walk to the hill. The trek to Tengboche shall take us between 5-6 hours following an uphill climb which provides an impressive view.
As the trail walks toward Sansa through the rhododendron forest, the lack of oxygen can be easily noticed. It’s therefore, we’ll walk at a slow and steady pace before catching up the speed. After ascending the rugged trail for almost 5-6 hours and enjoying the fabulous view of Ama Dablam, we’ll finally arrive at Tengboche.
The influence of Buddhism is primarily visible in this beautiful village with lots of Chortens and prayer flags. Tengboche also offers some incredible sights to see which includes the overwhelming view of snow-capped mountains and terrains. Overnight stay in a lodge at the village.

After climbing the craggy trail and stone staircase for about 6 hours, we’ll eventually get to Dingboche. It’s a popular Sherpa village in the Khumbu region perched at an altitude of 4,410 meters with some phenomenal sights. Tonight we’ll stay at a teahouse in Dingboche.

Trek Distance: 12 kilometers
Trek Duration: 6 hours
It’s day 05 of 7 days Everest Base Camp Trek and we’re primed to head over to Lobuche. Since the trek is too long today, we’ll do our breakfast right away and start rambling the trail. Our expedition begins with a steep climb from the brink of the hill which is awfully rough and filled with rocks.
Most hikers are likely to suffer from altitude sickness while scaling over Chukhung Valley so we’ll take a short break. While walking the harsh terrain along the side of the valley, we'll be able to see the stunning Pheriche village at the foot.
The path is largely flat from here so it’ll be a bit less stressful for us to navigate. On the trail, we’ll stop at a local teahouse to refresh and have food and drinks before continuing the trip. The last two hours of the Lobuche trek are exhausting with the ground becoming more precipitous and lofty.
Lobuche is relatively smaller compared to Dingboche with a small settlement and a few local shops. There are large camping areas in the village but you’ve to be cautious as the wind is too strong here at night.

The much-anticipated day is finally here as we’re ready to make our way to the base camp. Our trek commenced with a steep walk over the trail cram-full of boulders and loose rocks. At this point, the trek gets really intense as the trail keeps climbing height and there’s no clear passage.
After walking the dusty path for roughly 1-2 hours, we’ll reach Gorak Shep which used to be the base camp earlier. After stopping here for a little while and having lunch, we’ll return to the rugged trail that climbs high. The path upward is a bit savage so we’ll have to be careful while walking.
Upon reaching the base camp after 3 hours of hike, you’ll get to catch the glimpse of astonishing Mt. Everest. The hard job surely pays off well as we’ll get to watch the breathtaking Nuptse and Cho Oyu.
The unique landscapes and moving glaciers are no disappointment as they provide a delightful sight. After the sightseeing is over, we’ll climb our way down the rocky trail and turn up at Gorak Shep. Overnight stay at a tea house in Gorak Shep.
