Day 01: Early Morning Flight to Lukla and Trek up to Phakding

In the early morning, after a hearty breakfast at your hotel, we will transfer you to Kathmandu airport for your domestic flight to Lukla. The 35- 40-minute scenic and thrilling flight to Lukla can be a lifelong experience. The crisp mountain air greets you soon after your landing at Lukla airport. From there, we start to move forward towards our trekking journey to Phakding, passing through the greenery landscapes.

Several small villages come and go along the journey, with several river crossings over a suspension bridge. Crossing the Tharo Koshi River with a magnificent view of Kusum Kanguru mountain before the sight is an amazing experience. After a few hours of captivating downhill trekking through the scenic trails from Lukla, you will reach a charming Phakding village. At Phakding, you will stay overnight at the local teahouses.

Day 02: Trek From Phakding to Namche Bazaar

The Phakding to Namche Bazaar trek starts with a serene walk along the shores of the Dudh Koshi River. The trek is followed by crossing several suspension bridges over the same river and ascending through the forests of cedar, rhododendrons, and pine. The trails lead you through the captivating routes of the Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can have an enriching trekking experience, exploring the diverse plants and animals of the Everest region within the Park. After making our way out of the forested trails of the protected area, we will reach the hillside village of Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar is a popular stopover during the Everest region trekking and a wonderful destination to purchase traditional crafts and trekking/climbing gear. You can enjoy the stunning view of Mount Everest and several other Himalayan peaks from here, like Kongdi Ri, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, etc. In Namche Bazaar, we will be spending a cozy night at our pre-reserved teahouse accommodation, enjoying the delicacy of local cuisines served by charming Sherpa people.

Day 03: Acclimatization and Exploration Day in Namche Bazaar

Today, you will spend a leisurely day at Namche Bazaar. You can make the best of this day by allowing yourself proper rest and relaxation. After freshening up, you can take short hikes to the nearby places of importance and scenic viewpoints around the Namche Bazaar for acclimatization.

Explore most of this vibrant and bustling town by visiting places like Khunde Hospital, Namche Monastery, Sherpa Museum, etc. In addition, while strolling around the traditional settlements, you can spend some quality time interacting with the native residents. Day 04: Trek From Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

Tengboche altitude: 3,860 meters / 12,664 feet

The Namche Bazaar to Tengboche trekking journey involves traversing picturesque landscapes through meandering mountainous paths. We leave Namche Bazaar after a morning breakfast and begin trekking towards Tengboche. After several uphill and downhill treks, you will cross the Dudh Koshi River and enter a dense alpine forest. Coming out of the forest, you will pass through the small rural settlement, Phunki Tenga, with glorious views of snowy peaks like Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Island Peak, etc.

Gradually, you will reach the Tengboche village of Sherpa, which houses the largest monastery in the Khumbu, Tengboche Monastery. You can explore the religious architecture of this historical monastery and soak in the prayers and chants of the Buddhist monks. Tengboche village is encircled by a lush forest of rhododendrons and pine where you can catch a glance of the Lhophoporos. At night, you can have a delicious meal and comfortable sleep at teahouses.

Day 05: Trek From Tengboche to Dingboche

Leaving Tengboche village behind, we trek towards Dingboche, ascending the scenic Himalayan trails. First, you will make a slight descent, passing through the lush forest regions and traditional settlements. After crossing a suspension bridge over the Imja Khola, an approaching sight of shrines, chortens, monasteries, and mani walls marks your entrance to the Pangboche village.

From Pangboche, the trail ascends through pasture lands and meadows of the alpine Himalayan region. Following the rugged and rocky mountainous terrain with some inclined ascents, you will reach Dingboche. This picturesque village is encircled by a stone wall that protects the crops against the chilly mountain weather. In Dingboche, you can spend overnight at the traditional teahouse, relishing the grandeur of the Himalayas.

Day 06: Rest and Acclimatization Day in Dingboche (5-hour hike)

You will have a second acclimation day in Dingboche during your EBC trek helicopter return from the Pheriche tour. On this day, rest and replenish your lost energy and take short acclimatization hikes to adapt to the thinning air of high-altitude environments.

Acclimatization is crucial for avoiding the possibility of altitude sickness. So, you can consider taking hikes above Nagarjun Hill or the Chhukung Valley. Day 07: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910m; 4/5 hrs trek)

After a leisure day at Dingboche, we will trek well acclimatized, towards Lobuche. You will traverse the chortens enjoying the incredible views of the giant mountains like Cholatse, Tawache, Khumutse, Pumori, and Nuptse towards Pheriche. Trekking forward, you will pass some cultural villages and glacier moraines to reach the Thukla village or Dughla. Thukla has a few teahouses where you can have a lunch and rest break.

Next, you will make an ascent forward for the Thukla Pass, an Everest Memorial viewpoint dedicated to the loss of brave souls during the Everest expedition. Descending from the pass, you will reach the quaint Lobuche village, where you will be spending a night.

Day 08: Trek From Lobuche to Gorak Shep, Then to Everest Base Camp, and Return Back to Gorakshep

Our adventurous trek continues to the classic Everest Base Camp, passing through Gorak Shep. At 5,164 meters altitude, Gorak Shep is a glacial village and the highest human settlement in the world. This is the final village before reaching the Everest Base Camp. So, after enjoying the views at the base camp, we will return to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay.

The initial trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep is straightforward and offers exceptional close-up Himalayan views. Slowly, the trails start to become rough with rock sections and moraines. Navigating the rugged trails, you will reach the Gorak Shep. After a lunch break at Gorak Shep, we trek towards the Everest Base Camp, crossing the side ridge of the world’s highest Khumbu Glacier. Navigating the challenging glacier moraines in increasing altitude and decreasing oxygen levels is tough but also enticing with the excitement of reaching the closest of the world’s highest mountain.

Once you reach the base camp, you can marvel at the close-range view of majestic Everest and the 360-degree panorama of other stunning Himalayas, such as Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Khutse, Changtse, and many more adjacent peaks. Moreover, you can also witness the incredible Khumbu Ice Fall from the base camp. After having some nice moments, start descending to Gorak Shep by retracing your footsteps over the same route.

Day 09: Trek From Gorakshep to Kalapatthar (1.5/2 hours hike) and Trek Back to Pheriche (6-6.5 hours trek)

On our second last day of the Everest Base Camp Trek Helicopter return journey, we make a worthwhile hike to the vantage point of the Everet region, Kalapatthar. Waking up early before the break of dawn, you will traverse the rugged and rocky mountainous landscapes to make it to the Kalapatthar.

Kalapatthar is the highest point of this journey at 5,645 meters. The spectacular view of the dazzling sun rays illuminating the Himalayas is the best thing to behold from Kalapatthar. In addition, you will be rewarded with a grand vista of the entire Khumbu mountains from this famous viewpoint. After spending a joyful time at Kalapatthar, immersing in the early morning beauty of the Himalayan landscapes, we begin to trek downhill to return to Pheriche.

First, we descend to Gorak Shep and enjoy the delicacy of the first meal of the day. After a short break, we trek further, traversing the picturesque mountain trails and reaching Lobuche. You will navigate the remote Himalayan terrain of the Khumbu Valley, passing scenic villages like Dughla, Chhukung, etc.

Navigating the diverse landscapes, from rocky terrains to enchanting valleys and traditional villages, you can gain an opportunity to experience the rich nature and culture of the region.

Eventually, you will reach Pheriche, a charming village amidst the Himalayas that we passed during our previous journey from Dingboche to Lobuche. You will cover 12-14 kilometers of trekking from Gorak Shep to Pheriche, which takes you around 6-7 hours. We will spend a restful night at Pheriche.

Day 10: Return From Pheriche to Kathmandu on Helicopter (1/1.5 hours flight )
