Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu, Transfer to the Hotel

Day 10 begins with an early morning hike from Gorakshep to the famous Everest region viewpoint of Kalapatthar. It takes about 2 to 3 hours to walk uphill on rocky and barren trails to Kalapatthar. From the top of this vantage point the magnificent panorama of Mount Everest and nearby peaks such as Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Thamserku, Changtse, Khumbutse etc is simply breathtaking. Day 11: Trek From Dingboche to Chhukung and Training in Chhukung

Today you will have a relatively short and scenic hike from Dingboche to Chhukung that will take about 3 to 4 hours. As you proceed, the landscape will be more open and alpine in character with small villages and shepherd's huts dotted along the route.

After arriving at a high altitude, you must adapt your body to the changing altitude. You can do this by taking a rest and exploring around without gaining much altitude until you feel comfortable. Besides that, you should also rest properly after the trekking adventure and then not rush through the trails.
You should also trek gradually along the trails and sleep at a lesser altitude than the maximum point you reached. Hydrating regularly and avoiding caffeine and alcohol products is a must as well. These products can dehydrate you, which is the major cause of altitude sickness.
The Diamox tablets also help you tackle the symptoms of altitude sickness. In case you get altitude sickness symptoms, you should descend immediately and even abandon the trek if the symptoms persist. Altitude sickness can get quite dangerous and even fatal if not treated well and on time.
What is the Food and Accommodation on the Trail?
The tea houses along the trail have basic facilities for meals and accommodations. There are various facilities for staying in these teahouses, including a room with a bed, mattress, sheets, and pillows.
You will get blankets to tackle the colds, but you can also carry your own sleeping bags. There are some additional facilities in the tea houses, including electronic charging, Wi-Fi, and others in some teahouses. Toilet facilities are generally eastern style, where you will need to bring your own toiletries.
The meal facilities in the trek generally include local Nepalese dishes of “Dal Bhat”. The Dal Bhaat is a Nepalese dish consisting of various items like rice, cereals, vegetables, lentils, pickles, Gundruk, meat, etc. This item is quite nutritious and gives you energy for the challenging trekking journey.
You can get some other varieties of cuisines, including momo, Chaumein, pasta, noodles, etc. You can get tea, coffee, and other varieties of hot beverages in the region. Garlic soup is quite common in the region. For the trek, you can also get various snacks like protein bars, chocolate bars, and others.
